In 1999, he was initiated into Brahmacharya, the preparatory stage for monastic life. On 22nd February 2001, he formally entered the Order of Sannyasa (Monks). Since then, Swami Gururethnam, revered by many as Guruji, has played an active and inspiring role in Santhigiri Ashram’s healthcare and charitable initiatives. During this period, two major institutions were established: Santhigiri Siddha Medical College in Pothencode and Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical College in Palakkad.
On 13th September 2003, he was inducted as a member of the Ashram’s Director Board, continuously guiding its mission with devotion and dedication.
